i love sir patrick stewart more with each passing day.

See, guys. This is how you do it. Notice the words “Not all men are like that” are never spoken.

He knows men are like that

his father was like that to his mother

he has experienced the pain firsthand, of what it’s like when men are like that

and he never wants men to be like that again and he fights tooth and nail against the men who are still like that

And moreover, he acknowledges his privilege [as an older white male who is famous/well known] and uses it to speak up. He knows what he is, and he never has to say he’s not like those men he fights against—he never says it, his actions speak loud enough for everyone else to see it.

Sir Patrick Stewart, everyone.

Only the subtlest metaphors on this Tumblr.

This works as a metaphor for children but also it works perfectly well when played totally straight because horse people are actually like this

it literally took me three solid readings through this to realize that it wasn’t necessarily about horse people, because they are exactly like this

To any upcoming freshmen: don’t date seniors

When I was about to start high school, my mom told me that senior boys were grown men, and if any were interested in me then I should ask myself why they, as adults, were interested in a kid right out of middle school. And why they couldn’t get someone their own age.

Be safe, kiddos. A year counts a lot more when you’re younger, and the kind of senior who wants to date a freshman is well aware of this.

This is what a real, qualified OBGYN will tell you about what women feel when they get an abortion

Dr. Willie Parker, who is trained as a gynecologist and OBGYN, is a hero for the pro-choice movement because he’s honest about the undiscussed aspects of getting (or not getting) an abortion. Watch how he gives a consultation.

That last statement about regret is so important, because so many people don’t understand what it is or what causes it. Anti-choicers exploit this by manipulating pregnant people and creating doubt, which only increases the likelihood of regret, no matter what decision the pregnant person makes. You know what is best for you, even if it takes some time to figure it out.

Willie Parker is a HERO among common people!

Dr. Parker is one of the few things I like about Alabama and we are so fortunate to have him here.

Marvel: *introduces Hela, who is a powerful, competent, interesting three dimensional female lead*

Fandom: *immediately loves her, erects statues in her honor, makes tons of fanart and fanvids, posts thousands of gifsets of her, ships her with everyone, writes hundreds of AU fics where she survived Ragnarok and is part of the main MCU*

Marvel: *introduces Valkyrie, who is a powerful, competent, interesting three dimensional female lead*

 Fandom: *crickets*

POC in the Fandom: Uh, what the hell, guys? Exactly what did she do differently?

Fandom: Dunno. Just not feeling her.

 POC in the Fandom: Why?

 Fandom: No reason.

POC in the Fandom: Right. Well, whatever, we think she’s great and it’s awesome that she’s Thor’s love interest–

 Fandom: No, she’s not. BROTP.

POC in the Fandom: …Taika Waititi, Chris Hemsworth, and Tessa Thompson have all stated that there is an attraction between Thor and Valkyrie–

Fandom: No, it’s just BROTP. Thor doesn’t need another love interest.

POC in the Fandom: …but you ship Thor with literally everyone, including his own brother and sister.

Fandom: I just don’t see it as romantic, that’s all.

POC in the Fandom: And you’re sure this has nothing to do with Valkyrie being a black woman?

 Fandom: Absolutely sure.

 POC in the Fandom: …right

one time i said john kraskinski’s greatest achievement was becoming emily blunt’s husband and my mom got offended she was like “what if you said that about a woman” and i was like “if some woman married emily blunt that would also be her greatest achievement what’s your point”
