Children/teens aren’t allowed to be sad or in a bad mood because they can get yelled at for it and ridiculed and told to ‘change your attitude or I will for you’, while adults who are sad or in a bad mood, are allowed to yell at and take their frustration out on the kids. Adult privilege huh?
And when the adult is in a bad mood, it’s the kids job to step on eggshells in order to keep them from not exploding, and when they do, it’s on them.
And when the child is in the bad mood, it’s their job to try to hide it, and when they break apart trying to, it’s on them.
What extra sucks about this is that adults literally have more experience, context, perspective, and brain development to help them manage emotions. Adults who do this are shit. We are the adults, we should not be expecting kids who are still developing and learning about the world and trying to figure out their place in it to be the ones who are emotionally mature.
People who treat adulthood like a power trip are honestly shit and should not have authority over kids.
I’m broke so I can’t contribute but is there a way to get a hold of the office that was supposed to prosecute him? Because a polygraph is whatever, it’s unreliable but he bragged about it, he’s harassing her and wants custody of a child conceived through rape
Villains in Addams Family movies go to really unnecessary lengths to defraud them of the family fortune. These people just give it away on whims all the time. If I just walked into the house and started wearing their clothes and spending their money, they wold start introducing me as Cousin Intruder and forget there was ever a time I didn’t live with them.
I disagree with this whole heartedly, they would realize you weren’t a member of their family fairly quick since they keep Immaculate track of their family trees. The important thing, the really important thing, is that they wouldn’t care. Especially if you’re acting like they are family to you, they’re just going to assume that you’re someone who needs a family and needs friends and happily provide one to you without question. Especially if you’re someone, and given that you’re sharing their clothes this is pretty likely, with similar tastes to them. Eventually they will call you part of the family but it won’t be because they don’t realize you aren’t, it will be because they’ve decided to make you one.
They’ll add you to the family tree. They’ll even make a big todo out of it, with a celebration and feast.
Remember this the next time you want to complain about GMO’s, we may not have done it in a lab but they still are that.
Bananas looked like lemons wtf
Isn’t this more of a combination of selective breeding and GMOs? Not just GMOs?
Yes. But people talk about how GMO’s are “unnatural”, yet for centuries humanity has been exploiting mutations in animals and plants to produce food for themselves.
GMO’s are simply the process of inducing these mutations reliably.
People hear “Lettuce being modified with scorpion DNA” and think that we’re now eating scorpions. But, in reality, they’re taking a tiny bit of scorpion DNA and splicing it into the plant. Why? So the plant will produce poison that is not harmful to humans but will deter insects, reducing the use of pesticide, which CAN be harmful to humans and the environment.
GMOs are producing rice that can survive flooding, which makes rice more reliable yields and will prevent food shortages in poor nations that rely on said crops for staple food.
GMOs are also creating spider-goat hybrids. Why? So we can splice web production into the goat’s udders. We’ll be able to spin huge quantities of spider silk, enough to reliably create spider silk cables and ropes, which have more tensile strength than steel.
I for one am glad I live in a time where watermelons aren’t giant tomato abominations
The issue with GMOs is that corporations like Monsanto are patenting GMOs and arresting indigenous farmers for cross pollinating with they seeds. But there is nothing dangerous about the science.
^This.
The problem isn’t the science, it’s what capitalism does with that science.
this should be in the largest letters we’ve got, plastered everywhere until it gets through people’s heads:
The problem isn’t the science, it’s what capitalism does with that science.
The Problem Isn’t The Science It’s What Capitalism Does With That Science
Is… is anyone going to acknowledge the spider-goat hybrids?
